If you are seeking affordable CD mastering for your heavy metal, rock, reggae, electronic, folk or jazz album, you have come to the right place for down-home quality work and service! Imperial Mastering is located in the San Francisco Bay Area and offers international service.
I specialize in metal music, but I also master most other styles with equal interest and competence (don’t be afraid to request a test master.)
The mastering engineer is your final quality control decider during your album making process. Mastering is the final, crucial step in the recording process, and should not be taken lightly. I enjoy having that responsibility and insuring that your album sounds great in all playback systems – and MP3s stay clean!

- Do you want to add anything to the album’s tonal palette or do you want it to sound true to the mixing engineer’s intent?
- Do you need a bass heavy album and less loudness or a louder album which is lighter in the bass?
- Or you can simply tell me whats on your mind and then let me master your album according to my best discretion, while I keep in mind your suggestions. Its all up to you!
I have found that the best way to keep bands and engineer’s happy in the long term, is to deliver to them clean, clear, masters, true to the original, only better. If its metal or rock, your album will sound loud and competitive, but virtually distortion free. The low end will be balanced and tight. The high end will be transparent so you can listen loud without fatigue. My masters are usually designed to sound great loud. The playback system at Imperial is really clean so I can crank your album up to make sure it doesn’t fall apart.
If you have the time, I am happy to listen to a few mixes from your recording engineer to help you guys get your mix nailed as well. Just ask!
